Aesthetic injections are quickly learned and hard to master. Our aesthetics courses therefore follow a fixed principle: anatomy before product. Only once it is clear which structures lie beneath the skin do we talk about preparations, quantities and techniques. All courses are designed to be independent of products and are under medical responsibility.
Theory and practice are deliberately separated: the online courses convey the foundation, whenever and wherever you like. In the hands-on workshops in Düsseldorf you put it into practice on models, in a small group and under supervision. After the course, the physicians' community supports you with case discussions – and, should the worst happen, the Complication Consult.
Who is actually permitted to administer botulinum toxin and fillers in Germany is explained in our guide Who may inject Botox and hyaluronic acid?.
The training courses are aimed exclusively at licensed physicians. There are courses for beginners and for advanced practitioners.
Legally, the licence to practise medicine is sufficient for aesthetic injections; specialist training is not required for this. What is owed, however, is treatment in accordance with the specialist standard of care. In practice, aesthetics training therefore consists of structured continuing education: anatomy, active substances and technique in the online course, injection under supervision in the hands-on workshop. More on this in the guide Who may inject Botox and hyaluronic acid?
The botulinum toxin basic course is suitable for getting started with botulinum toxin treatment, and the course “Lips & perioral indications” for fillers. The facial anatomy basic course lays the foundation for both.
The online courses cost between €50 and €300, most of them €149 to €189, in each case as a one-off payment with permanent access. The one-day hands-on workshops most recently cost between €890 and €1,700 including VAT; the fee is stated in the respective course announcement.
The two complement each other: online, you work through anatomy, active substances and techniques at your own pace; in the hands-on workshop, you practise on models under supervision. Those who start with the online course use the time in the workshop for practical work.
The online courses are currently not CME-certified; on completion you receive a MEDEMIE certificate of participation. Whether a workshop carries continuing education credits is stated in the respective course announcement.
The hands-on workshops on botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid and PLLA take place in Düsseldorf (practice I ME MINE Ästhetik, Ernst-Gnoß-Straße 1, 40219 Düsseldorf). The Hands-On Anatomy Masterclass has so far been held in Vienna, Dresden, Leipzig and Hamburg, among other places.
