Complications can occur even with correct technique. The one-day intensive course in Düsseldorf teaches how to avoid them, recognise them early and treat them correctly – from vascular occlusion after hyaluronic acid filler to eyelid ptosis after botulinum toxin. The focus is on case discussions in a small group.
The spectrum: from redness and haematoma to emergency
Prevention: anatomy, safe injection technique, patient selection, choice of product
Recognising warning signs and classifying incidents by severity and time of onset
Vascular occlusion caused by fillers: immediate measures and treatment algorithm
Using hyaluronidase correctly, including the high-dose protocol
Swelling, nodules, asymmetries, infections and late reactions
Botulinum toxin: recognising and correcting ptosis and asymmetric facial expression
Aftercare, documentation and patient information
No injections are performed in this course. Instead, you work on cases: in a small group, real or realistic complications are presented, analysed together and solved step by step. In this way you practise the structured approach that counts when it matters – without time pressure and with experienced instructors.
One focus is vascular occlusion after filler injection. You learn the warning signs, the immediate measures and the use of hyaluronidase according to current protocols. In addition, the course covers the functional adverse effects of botulinum toxin, such as eyelid ptosis, and how to deal with delayed reactions after fillers.
You can work through the theory in advance, or to deepen your knowledge, in the online course Complication management in aesthetic medicine. In an acute case you are supported by the Complication Consult.
The training courses are aimed exclusively at licensed physicians. It is aimed at everyone who treats with fillers or botulinum toxin – regardless of experience.
No. Practical injection exercises are not planned; the course works with interactive case discussions in a small group.
The entire spectrum: common, self-limiting reactions such as redness and haematoma, swelling, nodules, asymmetries and infections, delayed reactions – and the rare emergencies such as vascular occlusion after filler injection. Plus the functional adverse effects of botulinum toxin.
